2017 Week 6 Game Picks

Week 5 was my worst week so far this season, going 7-7 with my game picks.  Several teams in the NFL still have me perplexed, and some I believe are still underachieving greatly.

With Week 6 upcoming, I’m hoping to get back on track, and have a big week.  I’ve picked one or two upsets for the week, and the Colts pick is completely dependent on Tennessee’s starting QB, Marcus Mariota, not playing.  I may be changing my pick later in the week.

Here we go!

Thursday, October 12th:

Philadelphia Eagles(4-1) at Carolina Panthers(4-1)

Sunday, October 15th:

Chicago Bears(1-4) at Baltimore Ravens(3-2)

2017 Week 5 Game Picks

I can’t say that Week 4 was a bad week.  Any time you get double digit games correct is a good week, but I’ve come to hold myself to a higher standard than that.  Several games last week went to OT, and we even saw some teams that we thought were really good, lose to teams that we didn’t think were very good.

It’s still early in the NFL season, and this season seems to be more unpredictable than ever.  Through 4 weeks, no team (except maybe the Kansas City Chiefs) has really stood above the rest and taken advantage early.  We’ll see what Week 5 has in store for us, and if some other teams start to separate themselves from the herd.

Here we go!

New England Patriots(2-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers(2-1)

2017 Week 3 Game Picks

Well, after going an upsetting 9-6 in Week 1, we turned it around in Week 2, going 13-3 in my picks.  That’s more like it!  The first month of the NFL season sets up teams for how the rest of the season could possibly go.  For some teams, the Playoffs already seem to be out of the question.  For others, now is the time that they want to continue their hot start, to further solidify their standing and chances to get into the Playoffs.

This week sees mostly matchups that appear to be one-sided on paper, however it is only Week 3.  Plenty of time for the struggling teams to turn it around, and for the hot-starters to falter.

2017 Week 2 Game Picks

As is customary of the NFL, Week 1 of the season had everything.  Close games, blowouts, and upsets.  As teams start to really come into mid-season form, we will see the cream rise to the top, as usual.

I had a sub-par Week 1, only going 9-6 in my official picks.  I’m looking forward to a possible big bounce back this week.

2017 Week 1 Game Picks

It’s finally here!  Week 1 of the NFL Regular season!  No more backups playing most of the game, these games matter!  This season is sure to be full of surprises, like every season.  One team will come out of nowhere, while several teams will likely take steps backwards.  Thus is the life of an NFL season.

I thought about changing it up this season, and picking games against the spread set by Vegas, but I’ve decided to start the season with just straight up picks.  I may change it up at some point this season, but that is yet to be decided.

So without further ado, here we go!

2016 Conference Championship Sunday

Let me start off by saying, thank God for last Sunday.  Before the Packers took on the Cowboys last Sunday, 6 Playoff games had been played.  In those 6 games, the average margin of victory was 18.3 pts.  AWFUL!  Fortunately, we were all saved by the Packers winning on a last second field goal, and a kicker’s delight game in Kansas City, which saw a total of 7 FGs!

So here we are.  The Final Four.  Arguably the best Final Four QBs that the NFL Playoffs has ever produced.  Brady vs Roethlisberger.  Rodgers vs Ryan.  This should be a heck of a day of football.

Sunday, January 22nd:

#4 Green Bay Packers at #2 Atlanta Falcons

  • I’m going with the Green Bay Packers, and not just because I’m a shareholder.  Rodgers has been on an absolute legendary tear, ever since talking of “running the table” back in the regular season.  The Packers haven’t lost a game since November 20th, and I don’t see the Falcons defense stopping the train now.  It’s going to be a high scoring game, with two high powered offenses, but I have to give the nod to Green Bay, simply because of their QB.  Packers win 38-35.

#3 Pittsburgh Steelers at #1 New England Patriots

  • I predicted before the season that Pittsburgh would be in the Super Bowl, and I’m not changing my mind now.  Everyone in the AFC knows that the road to the Super Bowl, goes through Foxborough.  This season is no different.  Brady has had one of, if not the best, seasons of his historic career, and is trying to get to an unprecedented 7th Super Bowl.  However, I don’t think he has the parts to help him on defense.  Roethlisberger has the help of arguably the best RB and WR in the NFL.  Steelers win a tough one, 24-19.

To recap, my picks:

  • Green Bay
  • Pittsburgh

My Record: 172-90-2 (.6578)
